Economics!

After all of the snow days, we are finally ready for economics! There are 3 units of study we will cover: economics marketplace, business organizations, and the governments role in the economy. We will begin by looking at some basic economic principles like supply and demand, opportunity costs, production/consumption, the factors of production, and different types of economies. Throughout the 3 economics units students will complete a booklet of important economic terms. This booklet is very important to student success in these units and should not get lost!

November Topics

Throughout the month of November, Civics students will begin learning about the National Government of the United States. Special emphasis will be placed on the roles of the three branches of government (Legislative, Executive, and Judicial). Students will create a Three Branches Tree explaining the functions of each branch of government, write a journal as President of the USA, and explore the ways each branch of government checks and balances out the other two branches.
